Hi. I'm attorney Jennifer Lotz, or "Jen" to my family, friends, and clients. I am married to Bob Bergman, who is the owner of the firm.
I am a Chicago native, born and raised, and I have lived here in the Santa Clara Valley since 1995 when I moved here to attend law school at Stanford. I practiced as a labor and employment counseling and litigation attorney with Littler Mendelson, Morrison and Foerster, Bergeson LLP and Hopkins & Carley, until leaving that practice area to affliate with Bob's firm in May of 2007 as "Of Counsel." I presently do legal contract work in labor and employment law at home while caring for our twin baby daughters.
Like my husband Bob, I have a theatrical side, but as a producer and director. I worked with Nomadic Theatre as an undergraduate at Georgetown University, and have worked with the Stanford Savoyards, Sunnyvale Community Players, and Lyric Theatre (Gilbert & Sullivan Society of San Jose). I also serve on the Georgetown University Admissions Ambassadors Committee by interviewing local high school students as part of the admissions process for the school.
I have been practicing law since 1998, when I was admitted to the State Bar of California. My resume is below:
Education
- B.A., Georgetown University (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Rhodes Scholarship Semi-Finalist for the State of Illinois)
- J.D., Stanford Law School (Hilmer Oehlmann, Jr. Award for Excellence in Research and Legal Writing)
Memberships and Court Admissions
- Member, State Bar of California
- Admitted to practice before all California courts, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Central Districts of California, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals
Other Related Training and Experience
- Notary Public, State of California
- Primary Contributor, "Handbook For Incorporating a Business in California," State Bar of California, 2006 (Section 10, "Employment and Labor Matters")
